With over 25 years of experience as a DJ and Master of Ceremonies, Ed Petty is the definition of a career entertainer.
In fact, he graduated from the America School of Broadcasting, and has one of the most unforgettable voices you will ever hear. Ed Petty started at a young age with private parties and clubs, and upon entering the Navy he stayed active in various forms of entertainment, including co-hosting a nightly news and variety television show on the USS Valley Forge.
For the past 15 years, Ed has focused on his true passion: weddings. He has an uncanny ability to read a crowd, and make anyone of any age feel comfortable and a part of the evening.
Ed is reputable, virtuous, and honorable. Whether it’s the most elegant of settings or that all out “let your hair down” party, Ed’s experience and musical knowledge makes him the perfect entertainer for your reception!
What was the first concert you attended?
What’s your best attribute?
My musical knowledge and ability to read a crowd. I’ve been humbled by many comments from people in the industry stating that I was one of the best crowd readers they have seen. Even at a young age, my mentors said I had a natural talent for it that wasn’t teachable.
Before today, what’s your favorite moment ever as a DJ?
Dennis and Amy Wilson’s reception back in 2010. During the dancing time we surprised Amy in the middle of “Song for You” by Michael Buble by turning the music down and Dennis played the trumpet solo in the middle. She had her back to him & the dance floor was packed. The crowd parted and he came walking through it playing. She turned around and saw him as he made his way toward her. After the solo we took the trumpet and he finished the dance with her. Not a dry eye in the house!
“Ed Petty was the DJ at our Ashton Gardens wedding. His service was impeccable and one-of-a-kind. One of the biggest worries that I had during the planning process was keeping guest on the dance floor and engaged throughout the night. Ed chose songs that were fun and fitting for all ages. From my grandparents to my younger friends, everyone was out on the dance floor and enjoying the night! Le Force Entertainment provided me with stress-free planning. They include a do not play list and a must play list in order to fit every bride’s desire. Ed Petty is truly a master of ceremonies. He has a way of making your day flow smoothly. Ed truly cares about you and your special wedding day. He even went out of his way to go grab the toss bouquet to make sure that I was ready for the bouquet toss. He really cares and wants to make you and your groom happy! Ed will not disappoint, take it from a girl who spent 3 years planning her wedding!”
“Ed Petty was so awesome and made our wedding the best day ever! I am so happy that we used Le Force and got lucky enough to get Ed. He made everything run so smoothly and it just felt like he was a part of the family. Several guests throughout the night talked about how much they enjoyed him. You will not be disappointed working with Le Force and especially Ed Petty!”
“Le Force Entertainment, and our DJ, Ed Petty, were absolutely fantastic! My now husband and I were planning our wedding primarily on our own, and had never planned an event like this before. Ed calmly and patiently took us through all of the details, and showed us how we could fill out all the info we wanted on the online DJ forms (which are amazing!!). We had some special requests- mainly the Jewish hora, and the option to dance to our pre-recorded violin-piano duo as our first dance. Ed loved any opportunity to make our reception more personal to us, while giving suggestions about flow, layout of the room, and all kinds of details that would make the night conducive to having fun. He also answered all of my last-minute emails that I sent up right until the wedding morning. We are so grateful to LeForce Entertainment and to Ed for making the night so much fun for us and our guests!! (and also, the iBooth was awesome and our guests loved it!)”
“We had Ed Petty as our DJ/MC. He was absolutely awesome and easy to work with! He has several years of experience, and was able to help us out with several things we were absolutely clueless about. He worked with us to get our grand entrance exactly how we imagined it, and helped me (the groom) put together a surprise choreographed dance for my bride during the garter toss. He pulled off exactly what I was looking for, and needless to say my wife was definitely surprised. LeForce overall was also very easy to deal with regarding the booking process. A group of true professionals indeed!”
