His first event was in college when one of his friends suggested he DJ a party himself. When Jake asked, “Why me?” his friend replied, “You know why. You are the most fun and outgoing person I know!” After borrowing equipment from the campus activities department for his first event, Jake knew this was something he was ready to pursue. He was hooked on buying new gear and building his library to make him more versatile in the event industry. After posting an ad on Craigslist, Jake booked his first wedding. Jake knew then what he wanted his career to be.
Jake graduated from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor with a BA in History (which is super important as a DJ) and a minor in Christian Studies. Now Jake is a full time DJ and Dallas resident. He is recently married, and lives by the motto “happy wife, happy life.”
Jake enjoys spending time with his friends and family and instagraming pictures of his dog “Barli.”
Jake loves to create an atmosphere that allows you and your guest to have the experience of a lifetime. He is sincere, true, and dedicated. According to Jake, “being an MC requires someone who is willing to lead in a way that is inviting and non-intrusive to the guest. I will not be ‘over the top’ and I will not be the center of attention. It’s not about me.”
What was the first concert you attended?
The Newsboys at Six Flags Over Texas (don’t judge)
What’s your best attribute?
My friends would say dependable. No matter what the circumstance may be, I will always keep my word, and do whatever it takes!
Before today, what’s your favorite moment ever as a DJ?
When my brother got engaged, and asked me not only to be his best man, but his DJ/MC as well. It was an incredible honor, and incredibly fun to be such a vital role on his big day. Not to mention, my entire family was there to see me in my element!
