Have you ever thought, “I can do that better?”
That is exactly what Andy Austin thought when he went to his first middle school dance. After convincing his parents and the school council to let him DJ the next dance, Andy knew then what he wanted to be when he grew up.
Andy Austin is, and always will be, an entertainer by heart, choice, and trade. Born and raised in Dallas by parents Dean and Charlotte, he performed his first wedding reception at age fifteen. Self-taught and self-trained, he brings originality to every event.
Andy Austin’s approach is theatrical yet unobtrusive, sensitive and enthusiastic, while creating a meaningful reception for you and your guests. He will take the time to learn everything about you, including your opinions and priorities.
He is a dj and mc, who by giving energy to his audience, is able to incite them to let go and have a great evening. He then draws on the energy and is proud to know that not only has he fulfilled the client’s hopes, but he also had a meaningful impact in their lives.
The most rewarding part of being a DJ is…
The social aspect. I love my parents, and I love my friends. I truly enjoy meeting so many new people, and many remain life long friends.
What was the first concert you attended?
Erasure! I love 80’s pop synth, and the fact that most of these groups are still around today really brings back memories
Before today, what’s your favorite moment ever as a DJ?
I started to answer with memories of some of the best receptions and parties of my career. I love to help create the energy for the party, but there is one thing I like even more than the party; it seems as though so much focus is placed on the party, that people tend to forget why they are there. My favorite moments include bringing emotion into the night. I love ‘love’, and helping a couple produce a wedding that Is not only fun, but emotional, are my favorite moments.
